With this original jackets’ box set Deutsche Grammophon celebrates the 70th birthday of Itzhak Perlman (31 August 2015). Between 1968 and 2001 he recorded 25 albums for DG and Decca – many of them classics – partnered by some of the greatest artists of his time. With new liner notes, a reminiscence by Itzhak Perlman himself and recording sessions’ photos, this set makes a fitting tribute to a great artist.

He made his début on the Yellow Label with the much acclaimed Berg / Stravinsky Concerto coupling (with Ozawa) and won new fans for the Elgar Violin Concerto (with Barenboim) in the 1980s. Concerto recordings of Saint-Saëns and Wieniawski, Lalo, a ‘favourites’ CD and The Four Seasons with Perlman playing “Winter” also form part of the discography.
